Sonia was born in Coimbra, she is Post-Ph.D. in Psychology (University of Aveiro-Portugal), Ph.D. in Psychology, MSc in Clinical Psychology, Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy, Degree in Psychology. She also has Diploma in Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences (Faculty of Medicine of University of Coimbra-Portugal); Qualified with the Specialist Diploma in Clinical and Health Psychology and Advanced Specialist Diploma in Psychology of Justice (Titles awarded by the College of Specialties of the Psychologists Portuguese Board). Coordinator of the Human Potential Development Center of the Applied Research Institute . Committee Chair of Ethics Committee of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra - Portugal. Expert in Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences by the Ministry of Portuguese Justice (FMUC-INMLCF) Member of the Scientific Council of the Portuguese Agency for Prevention of Trauma and Human Rights Violation. Member of the International Society for the study of Individual Differences, Member of the Psychologists Portuguese Board, Member of the European Society of Criminology, and Member of the International Association of Psychology of Childhood, Adolescence, Seniors and Disability. Joined Law Degree in 2018. Post graduated in Informed Consent, Attends specialization in Ethics for Health at the Faculty of Medicine in Coimbra.She is also Expert evaluator at the Research Executive Agency- European Comission and Invited Teacher at Esec since 2018 Research Interest Behavioral Science (Personality and Emotional intteligence), Forensic Psychology, Forensic Psychopathology, Psychology of crime, Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, Forensic Typology of crime, Crime scene evidence, Behavioral patterns of crime, Homicide and violent offenders, Abuse crime, Spousal and domestic violence, Motivations for hate and behind the crimes, Human Rights in Inmates and imprisonment, Ethics in research, , employability and Criminology.
